Do what you can do.
あなたができることをやりなさい。

whatの一番の特徴は先行詞がいらないということです。「～すること／するもの」という意味でthe thing whichと書き換えられます。つまりwhatの中にすでにthingという先行詞が含まれているためそれ以上の先行詞が不要なのです。

the thing which you can do　あなたができること
=   what
the thing which happened　起こったこと
= 　what

Tennis is exactly what he wants to do.
(テニスはまさに彼がしたいことである。）
What impressed me was his way of talking.
（私を感動させたものは彼の話し方だった。）
